Rockers all over the world should know that they can now start their Xbox 360 gaming console, log into their Xbox Live accounts and then access the Xbox Live Marketplace in order to download the free demo for the upcoming Guitar Hero: Metallica, which is being published by Activision. The demo is quite well put together, featuring four songs and one venue, designed to show off the way Guitar Hero: Metallica will look and sound when it is launched.

Gamers will be able to play two tracks coming directly from Metallica and two tracks that are said to have inspired the music of the band. The two Metallica tracks are “Sad But True” and “Seek and Destroy” among the heaviest songs recorded by the band, which really serve to showcase their metal credentials. Those who download the demo can also play “No Excuses” from Alice in Chains and “Stone Cold Crazy” from Queen. All the tracks can only be experienced in the setting known as The Forum, which serves to demo the new custom camera angles used in Guitar Hero: Metallica and the fresh style of venue used in the game.

Guitar Hero: Metallica is the second game in the music simulation series focused on the work of a single band, after the game dedicated to Aerosmith. Gamers will be able to play tracks from Metallica, as well as songs that have influenced the band, in locations that mimic stadiums or copy the themes put forward by their album covers.

Guitar Hero: Metallica is being developed for a variety of gaming systems. The Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 versions of the game are set to be similar and will arrive on March 29 in the United States. There are also Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2 versions being created by Budcat, which should have some of the features paired down in order to run smooth on less powerful systems.
