Not for the DS that's for sure (guitar I mean)

Internal Activision developer, Neversoft is known for quite some time now for continuing work on the Guitar Hero series, thus it will be them who launch Guitar Hero III on PlayStation3, Xbox 360, PlayStation2 and Wii by the end of 2007 (why is the Wii always last on the list?).

This was confirmed by RedOctane president Kai Huang, who spoke with GameSpot and told them the following: "Guitar Hero III is being developed by Neversoft, which is an internal Activision developer. They're one of the best Activision developers, if not one of the best developers in the world, having had a tremendous amount of success with the Tony Hawk franchise, and they've been working on Guitar Hero III now."

The Nintendo DS version of Guitar Hero won't be out until 2008 and all the GH III controllers for all the consoles it launches on will be wireless, were other details confirmed by the same man, in the same interview. How do you reckon GH for the DS will play. No guitar for that one, that's for sure. It will most likely be a simpler version of the game as the handheld's buttons are placed in a square/rhombic shape.

More will be available with the new GH III like, downloadable content (not just songs), online play, deluxe peripherals for GH veterans (although it's hard the way it is) and other stuff soon to be announced. But GH is a music game so naturally, the first question that comes to mind is: what are the songs? RedOctane president didn't leave this detail hanging either:

"We've got a lot of songs and artists still that we would love to have, in particular, we've been trying to get Metallica, AC/DC, and Led Zeppelin, so hopefully sometime in the near future, my wish, and everybody's wish, will come true, and we can get some of their music in the game." Sounds good, but with the new GH hack I just heard about yesterday, you can play any song your heart desires so, yea sure... Metallica sounds good.
