Xbox 360 gamers will have a reason to celebrate as RedOctane representatives confirmed that Guitar Hero II will be released in early 2007. The Xbox release of Guitar Hero II will trail the PS2 version of the game, which is scheduled for November 2006.

At Microsoft's X06 event in Spain, Activision
presented the game including a prototype X-Plorer. Much to the disappointment of fans, the X-Plorer connects to the Xbox 360 trough a wire. At that that time, representatives present at the event did not want to confirm that the final version of the X-Plorer will have the same configuration, thus, it will also require to be connected through a wire. But later on, RedOctane spokesperson confirmed the fact that the final version of the X-Plorer will also be wired.

Guitar Hero II will be available as a hardware bundle with a Gibson 8 controller replica or as a standalone disc. Guitar Hero II is the follow-up to 2005's Guitar Hero, which won a stack of awards like: "Best Offline Multiplayer Game 2005" and "Music Game of the Year 2005", 'Best Soundtrack 2005" and five D.I.C.E. Awards including Outstanding Innovation in Gaming and Family Game of the Year.

No wonder the gaming community is getting more and more restless and stirs up things once any rumor regarding Guitar Hero II shows up.
