Wouldn't it be nice to be a beta tester? Wouldn't you like to be a Guild Wars beta tester? I guess you could, if you lived in the far east, China to be exact. If the game's developer would choose you out of 200,000 applicants, I guess this fantasy would come true.

The closed beta testing for Guild Wars, the Chinese version, will begin on November 29, and many Chinese gamers rushed to fill in an application for this job, almost 200,000 of them on the first day, according to Joystiq. I don't know exactly how many beta testers they need, but I'm quite sure that most of those applications will be denied.

Many of you confuse Guild Wars for a MMORPG, but note that this NCsoft game is a CORPG, namely a Competitive/Cooperative Online Role-Playing Game. It was born out of South Korean developers, ArenaNet, a NCsoft subsidiary.

Guild Wars was first released on April 28 of 2005 worldwide, buy Chinese gamers will not get to experience it till next year. As gaming publishers nowadays are following the game console trend, NCsoft seems dedicated to PC games, and Guild Wars can even run on Linux operating systems, Linux x86 or Cedega.
