The development team at ArenaNet and publisher NCSoft announce that they are launching a new episode of Living World content for their MMO Guild Wars 2, called The Dragon’s Reach Part 1, which is designed to introduce two new major story threads for players to explore.

In the new content, the powerful Elder Dragon Mordremoth manages to increase his hold on Tyria as his minions manage to deliver attacks in areas that range from the Maguuma wastes to the Timberline Falls and the heart of Kryta.

Guild Wars 2 players need to work in order to unite the other races of the world against this new threat and make sure that its influence does not go any further, which can only be accomplished by pursuing two core new quest lines.

The Call Goes Out asks players to visit each faction in order to see what their own problems are at the moment and how they are connected to Mordremoth.

The task will be made difficult by the need to deal with his powerful minions in combat.

Completing tasks will allow gamers to persuade the leaders of each race to unite so that they can then mount on offensive against the Elder Dragon.

Corruption Spreads asks MMO lovers to travel to the Charr in the Iron Marches in order to face the vines that have already threatened Concordia and Fort Salma, and offers aid to all those who need it.

All those who log into Guild Wars 2 will get permanent access to The Dragon’s Reach Part 1 story elements, which can then be replayed at any point in order to complete the challenging objectives linked to Achievements.

The development team at ArenaNet adds that gamers can also start to create “a new back item which will grow and change as your adventures continue in Episodes 3 and 4, and search through Buried Locked Chests for a chance at one of three new Kites! The Ventari Follower, Prosperity Mine, and Crystal Shard Kite toys will grant you increased movement speed while carrying them.”

Guild Wars 2 is an unique MMO experience because it does not have a monthly subscription and also does not embrace the free-to-play philosophy.

Gamers need to buy the initial retail package in order to get access to the experience, and the development team at ArenaNet has pledged to update the game both with more Living World content and with expansions in the near future.
