Achievements are game-defined goals that are stored and displayed in your gamer profile. Achievements can be as simple, complex, or off-the-wall as a game wants. Your achievements include all of your awards, medals, and high scores (which are also presented in condensed form as part of your gamer
card).

Here's a little bit of info on how to view your achievements or other gamers' achievements or why achievement notifications appear during gameplay.

To view your achievements:

1 - Sign in on your console.

2 - Select your gamer card from the Xbox Dashboard or Xbox Guide.

3 - Select View Games. A list of your played games and a summary of unlocked achievements appears.

4 - To view achievements for a particular game, select the game.

- Select an achievement to view the details for that achievement.

- Some achievements are hidden. You are not able to view the details of those achievements until you unlock them.

- Achievements are sorted by date. To sort by gamerscore, select Change Sort Order (Y). Select it again to go back to sorting by date. The achievements you unlock will always appear at the top of the list regardless of sort order.

Achievements are a feature of every Xbox 360 game you play, giving you something to crow about while showing other Xbox Live gamers the titles you excel at and comparing your achievements to other gamers who play the same titles you do.

To view another gamer's achievements:

1 - Sign in to Xbox Live.

2 - Select the person's gamer profile. You can get to a person's gamer profile from your friends list, your recent players list, from a message, or within a game.

3 - Select Compare Games. A list of your combined played games and achievement points appears.

- The games that your rival has played or both of you have played are displayed at the top of the list, followed by games only you have played. A double-dash (--) indicates that the person has not yet played the game.

4 - To compare achievements for a particular game, select the game.

- Select an achievement to view the details for that achievement.

- Some achievements are hidden. You will not be able to view the details of those achievements until you unlock them.

- The achievements that your rival has unlocked or both of you have unlocked are displayed at the top of the list, followed by achievements that only you have unlocked, then by achievements that neither of you have unlocked. A double-dash (--) indicates that the person has not yet unlocked the achievement.

Achievement Notifications During Gameplay

When you accomplish an achievement during gameplay, a notification instantly appears that showcases the name of the unlocked achievement and the gamerscore value.
