Video game developer Guerrilla Games announces that it has no plans to reveal its secret PlayStation 4 bound title at the upcoming E3 2014 trade event because launch will not take place in the near future, but fans of the studio will be satisfied to hear that a new Remaster project for the Sony home console will be made in the future.

In a conversation with fans on Reddit, Samrat Sharma, who is a senior online producer at the company, states that, “No, we won’t be showing it right now. Simple reason: we are confident enough in the game, but it’s not something we can show and expect reasonable feedback. There is simply a lot of work that we need to do before we show it to our fans.”

Guerrilla Games is best known for the work it has done on the Killzone series, which has long been associated with PlayStation-branded devices and was originally envisioned as a direct competitor to the rival Halo, which only launched on Xbox platforms.

The studio has managed to extract a lot of performance from the hardware it has worked with and has been praised for its take on first-person shooter mechanics.

Killzone: Shadow Fall was a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and has managed to sell very well, especially as Guerrilla Games has delivered constant updates for it and has added new content, both for single and multiplayer, via patches and DLC.

The company is unwilling to talk about its secret project, but rumors are suggesting that it will also use shooter ideas and that it might use an entirely open world, which would be a first for the team.

It’s unclear whether the title’s universe is entirely new or if the studio is working with an already existing intellectual property.

The senior online producer also teased another announcement, which would show fans that an older title will be remastered for the PlayStation 4.

The developer states, “Well, it’s not a when, but an if. To be fair, there is a lot of thought being put into, at the Sony level, on how to handle our digital library for the PS4. Expect announcements to that effect at some point in the future.”

It would make sense for Guerrilla Games and Sony to work on bringing the first two Killzone titles, with all the content associated with them, to the PlayStation 4 at some point in the near future.
