The chart of the week’s most pirated movies has a new leader and it’s one that may cling to the top spot for a while, especially given the success it had at the Box Office this summer.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” hits the top spot after a couple of interesting weeks. Two weeks ago, the film entered the chart on the seventh spot, then slipped to number nine at the last report. Now, it managed to skyrocket to the top, taking the much earned spot.

Coming up next is “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” which occupies the same spot as last week, reveals a chart published by TorrentFreak. This week, however, it seems that the copy that fills the chart is no longer a mere Webrip, which means the quality level has gone up a notch.

Last week’s leading film, “Dracula Untold” has dropped to the third place, indicating not as much as a loss of interest in the reinvented story of Vlad the Impaler, but rather a bigger interest in Guardians.

“If I Stay,” occupies the fourth place, dropping one spot from last week’s chart. The movie features Chloe Grace Moretz, and tells the story of a young lady trying to figure out where her life needs to take her.

Only two new entries this week

This week’s first new entry landed on the fifth place. “The November Man,” which features Pierce Brosnan, tells the story of an ex-CIA agent whose quiet retirement is disturbed by one last mission where he needs to protect a valuable witness. Obviously, things get complicated and he becomes a target himself.

Up next is “Let’s Be Cops,” a comedy that tells the story of two pals who dress up as cops and somehow end up in the middle of a complicated situation involving mobsters and dirty cops.

“Hercules,” with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is up on the seventh place, while apocalypse style “Into the Storm,” follows on the eight spot.

20th Century Fox animation movie “How to Train Your Dragon 2” seems to continue to be a pirate-favorite. The sequel for the 2010 blockbuster entered the chart nearly a month ago and has been oscillating between the top and the bottom of the list ever since.

Last one up is “Free Fall,” this week’s second new entry. The action flick comes from the producers of Final Destination and Halloween and features Malcolm McDowell, D.B. Sweeney and Sarah Butler.
