Developer Monolith Productions and publisher Warner Bros. have announced that they are launching a new game mode for their Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title Guardians of Middle-Earth, named Survival.

The new experience is set around player cooperation and will see gamers battle in the Glittering Caves deep in the White Mountains.

Waves of enemies increase their power as they attack and gamers will need to defend their own towers and defeat powerful boss characters.

Gamers who have bought Guardians of Middle-Earth on the PlayStation 3 will also be able to take part in a Play with Dev session on the PSN service on Friday, March 1, from 5 to 8 PM Pacific Standard Time.

Plus, members have free access to Guardians of Middle-Earth until March 4.

The game is also set to get access to a new Goblin town map, which takes gamers deep under the Misty Mountains.
