Nothing has been heard about Alice in Chains tours since 1996. But the come-back will be a tough one - more than two-dozen concerts all over Europe and America. The beginning of the European tour is set on May 26th at the Super Bock Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, while the end of the road is at Nijmegen, Holland, on the 2nd of July. So for over one month and a half, they will perform in both festivals and one-band shows.
Before the European tour, there will also be a few gigs held in several clubs from the USA. So, there will be a North American club tour, preceding the European one starting on May 18th.
The group structure has not modified too much during the last decade.

Alice in Chains will hit the road for the European tour with the original members - guitarist Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Inez and drummer Sean Kinney. The only newcomer will be vocalist William DuVall, replacing Layne Staley, dead in 2002 because of an overdose. After all, we shouldn't forget that Alice in Chains is originated in the grunge family of Seattle, family in which, unfortunately, deaths on drug causes are more like the rule than the exception.
Hopefully, this summer we'll have the chance to see a non-Kurt Cobain-imitating Jerry Cantrell & co on European stages, but still a 100% grunge show as a proof for the old slogan "Grunge's not dead!".
