Yesterday, Scarlett Johansson experienced what it's like when the media turns on you. Of course, it wasn't the entire media but only one paparazzo and he didn't quite 'turn on her', just called her names, but still... this is little less love than she has been accustomed to receive. And we're now talking about a woman who, until now, has never been afraid or too shy to strike a pose or to talk to a bunch of photos.
The bossomy actress was in New York, where she hosted 'Saturday Night Live' with Bjork and, during her entire stay there, she made a point of not posing for any picture. Even more, she did her best to shield her face from the cameras as if saying that, if she's not willing to strike a pose, no one will catch her on camera. Apparently, one of the paparazzi did not feel the same way.
As Scarlett made her entrance into the 'SNL' studio, she was greeted on the sidewalk by a swarming mass of paparazzi, all prepared to snap her. As she tried to brush past them, with the aide of one of her assistants, one of the guys, armed with a camera and a powerful flash, found the best way to convince the diva to stand and pose - he started calling her names. Way to go, dude! That's just too classy for words!
The man in question can be heard yelling after the fast-moving Scarlett 'Come on, don't be a bitch!' and, as if that weren't enough (or maybe because he thought the word could be taken as some sort of endearing term), repeating it over and over again: 'Bitch! Bitch! Bitch!'.You can imagine Scarlett didn't even wink when hearing this, preferring instead to mind her own way. What, you're telling me, why didn't she stop to pose? Well, maybe the guy should have also added some FUs and other 'nice' and 'polite' words of this type...
After hosting 'SNL' and the after-party (where Scarlett again did her best to outsmart the paps), the actress was spotted again, this time as she was leaving her hotel, this morning. For once, her fear (for lack of a better term) of the cameras ended with a thump and down she went! While one way to impede others from taking your pic is to throw a jacket over your head (that much we've learned from Lindsay Lohan!), running when you can't see one millimeter ahead of you is never a good idea! Especially when your escape route also includes a couple of stairs!
This is something that gorgeous Scarlett will certainly remember next time. HERE is the video of the stumble and fall of Scarlett. And the rise, too! I'm sure you agree with me when I say that it's a huge shame that she feels such a strong need to cover that pretty face of hers!
