The Growl Project has released an updated version of the universal notification system for Mac users fixing a few bugs reported by users in version 2.0 of the application.

Growl 2.0.1 addresses a positioning problem, according to the developers. The issue was patched with the help of the user base whose invaluable feedback allowed the developers to isolate the bugs that caused the misbehavior on Lion systems.

Multiple crash reports are also addressed in version 2.0.1, according to the Growl Team.

A relatively new release, Growl 2 adds support for OS X Mountain Lion’s Notification Center, as well as support for Prowl and Boxcar services as action displays. Since version 2.0 was released, Growl is also sandboxed.

Available on the Mac App Store for $0.99 / $0.89, Growl requires OS X 10.7 Lion, or OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
