Groove Mobile announced it has reached an agreement to launch a mobile music download service with Canadian operator MTS Allstream. The MTS Mobile Music Store will offer MTS Allstream's customers full-track downloads directly to the mobile, as well as access to music charts, high quality album art and
previews.

The MTS Mobile Music Store will come preloaded on the Samsung A920, A900, M500, M610 and LG Fusic handsets with support for more devices to be added at a later date. The music service will support dual downloading, giving customers two versions of each acquired song, one for the mobile and the other for the PC. Customers will get to choose from a music selection consisting of more than one million music tracks from artists published by the Sony BMG, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, IODA and The Orchard labels.

"Today, wireless is about much more than phone calls, and this service can make your wireless device into much more than a phone," said Stan Kurtas, Vice-President Marketing, Consumer Markets, MTS Allstream. "This service offers customers access to a huge variety of different music right on their cell phones. Subscribers can even download a copy for use on their computer or preview a 30-second clip before they make a purchase."

In addition to full-track downloads, the MTS Mobile Music Store will provide users with access to the IODA Free Track Chart, which consists of four to five tracks that change every week. The tracks will be available for download at no additional cost to MTS Allstream customers. The service will also offer music discovery features, powered by Groove Mobile's music recommendations engine that makes music suggestions based on each customer's purchase history.

"As part of our commitment to growing the mobile music market globally, we are happy to expand our presence in Canada with this alliance," said Adam Sexton, Chief Marketing Officer, Groove Mobile. "MTS Allstream's advanced digital network and Groove Mobile's innovative music discovery features are a perfect fit for music fans who demand a quality music experience direct to their mobile phone."
