It sometimes happens that marriages crash and burn. Still, one would expect that, all things considered, a couple will try and stay married for at least a month before deciding to go their separate ways.

As it turns out, such assumptions have very little to do with real life. On the contrary, every once in a while, “till death do us part” might only mean “for the next couple of hours or so.”

Long story short, media reports say that, just days ago, a groom asked his wife for a divorce on their wedding night. What's more, word has it the two had tied the knot only a few hours before the man demanded that they be separated.

Information shared with the public says the incident occurred in Saudi Arabia. The names of the groom and wife have not yet been disclosed, and the nationalities of the couple are also a mystery, Daily Mail informs.

By the looks of it, this peculiar incident reached the media via a Muslim cleric by the name Shaikh Ghazi Bin Abdul Aziz al-Shammari, who told a Kuwaiti news website dubbed Sabq about it. The story is now making headlines.

The groom decided that he had no choice left but to divorce his wife after being handed a memory stick that had compromising photos of his spouse stored on it. The memory stick was delivered to the husband by the woman's former lover.

Word has it that the memory stick reached the husband concealed in a bouquet delivered to the couple's wedding. After taking just one quick glance at the photos stored on it, the man was left feeling shocked and disgusted, and demanded divorce.

“The groom came to see me the next day and he was under strong emotional trauma. It was truly the shock of his life and he could not bear the scandal,” Muslim cleric Shaikh Ghazi Bin Abdul Aziz al-Shammari reportedly said in a statement.

The woman's former lover is believed to have delivered the memory stick to the newlyweds in an attempt to take revenge on her. Thus, it is said that, prior to delivering the bouquet to their wedding, the lover attempted to blackmail the woman into getting back with him.

She rejected him and told him that arrangements had been made for her to marry somebody else. When put in this situation, the lover decided that, since he was not going to get what he wanted, the woman he claimed to love should then not be happy either. Hence, he sent the memory stick to her husband.
