Grim Fandango Remastered is one of the most awaited launches of the year for those who love classic adventure games, but it seems that some players might experience issues with the title unless they download it once again from the PlayStation Network on their PlayStation 4.

An official support page explains that for some of those who have pre-ordered the game and then pre-loaded it might be unable to launch it because of an undisclosed reason.

They will need to “Return to the PS4 store and purchase the free version of the game (this SKU will only be visible to pre-order users at around 9pm PST.) Purchase the SKU only, do not re-download at this point. Restore PS4 licenses. [Settings] > [PSN] > [Restore License].”

If the move does not solve the Grim Fandango Remastered problem, then gamers need to delete the game content from their drive, then go to their library and highlight the game to download it again and then restore licenses.

Grim Fandango Remastered is designed to offer an upgraded take on the classic adventure title from Tim Schafer, which was initially offered to gamers in 1998.

For the time being, it’s unclear whether Sony has plans to deliver new versions of other such games in the near future or if it will work with Double Fine on entirely new titles.
