Grid Autosport developer Codemasters has revealed how it is going to support the new racing game after its release last month and shared the first few details about the car packs and mini expansions that will appear until October.

Grid Autosport was released last month as a back-to-roots iteration in the long-running racing series. Codemasters acknowledged the issues that plagued last year's Grid 2 and overhauled the whole core mechanics while adding more tracks, cars, and disciplines for players to experience.

It also promised last month that it was going to debut car packs and small expansions based on different themes.

Now, while talking with fans on the official blog, Codemasters has confirmed the first details about the three car packs and mini expansions coming to Grid Autosport.

The car DLCs will be called Best of British, Coupe Style, and Road & Track, while the small expansions are the Spring Pack, the Touring Car Legends Pack, and the Drag Racing Pack.

All of them are scheduled to appear until October 2014, so expect a steady stream of releases.

Codemasters has also taken the chance to pledge on continued support for Grid Autosport in terms of updates.

"In addition to new content we’re also hard at work on patches for the game, some of which you will have already seen deployed and others that are still on their way. These patches aren’t only for fixing any niggles or issues that you’ve helped identify but we’re also committed to improving the game where possible, based on your feedback," the studio says.

One major new feature that will appear alongside a free patch is the virtual rear view mirror. It's set to appear in the next PC update and on consoles once the certification process is complete.

Codemasters also plans to implement advanced controller options for all peripherals, including those that aren't officially supported by Grid Autosport, as it wants players to have a great time no matter that type of control device they use.

Changes to the multiplayer playlists are also coming soon, with the studio explaining that it wants to add more GP Routes to the online multiplayer, instead of just focusing on city tracks and other such things.

"Playlist changes are also something that’s due to happen, again, based on your feedback. The end result is that you should now see more GP Routes making an appearance and we’ve also increased the number of tracks available to each discipline, which should ensure that all your favorite locations make an appearance across a number of disciplines."

Expect to see quite a few new Grid Autosport updates and DLC packs soon.
