Grid 2 Gets Teaser Trailer from Codemasters

Codemasters has begun teasing a brand new racing game that's almost certain to be Grid 2, the sequel to the quite impressive Grid (also known as Race Driver: Grid), which appeared way back in 2008.

Grid 1 delivered an intense racing experience with realistic simulator mechanics, as well as top-notch damage animations and all sorts of competitions.

The game became a cult classic and established a loyal fanbase that assaulted developer Codemasters with wishes for a sequel.

Now, after avoiding the discussion for quite some time, Codemasters posted a short teaser trailer that depicts a powerful sportscar and, at the end, a stylized number 2. The video also mentions a new tagline "The Race Returns" and a date of 8 August, 2012.

While it's not official just yet, it's safe to say that Grid 2 will be unveiled next week. Until then, check out the video above.
