He’s just 12 years old but her is already more famous than many others who’ve been in showbiz for years. Greyson Chance rose to sudden international fame after he posted a video of himself performing Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at a school event and it went viral almost instantly. Recently, he performed one of the two songs he’s written himself on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, as the video below can confirm.

We also informed you at the time Greyson was “discovered” that Ellen asked him on her show the very next day after he became a YouTube sensation. It was then that the young singer revealed that he also liked to write his own music, and that he had, until that day, two unheard songs: one about love lost and one about death. The former, he said, had been inspired by events in his own life, while the other was just something that he felt at the time and decided to put down on paper.

The other night on Ellen, Greyson performed “Broken Hearts,” a ballad about a deceiving lover that, as expected, leaves the other broken-hearted and simply walks away. Though somewhat too mature for his age, but very suitable for his powerful voice, the conclusion of the song seems that broken hearts simply have no cure – or, if they do, it takes a long time until it takes effect. After the performance, Ellen awarded Greyson with a $10,000 check for being so incredibly talented and announced him that he was also about to get a new piano.

After that, the host made yet another surprising announcement: she would be launching her own record label and the first artist who would release an album under it was Greyson himself. This comes to put an end to earlier rumors that he’d been signed by Interscope, of which reports said rushed to get the young talented singer before anyone else could, seeing in him twice as much potential as Justin Bieber, of whom People magazine once said he was the hottest thing in showbiz since The Beatles.

Without further ado, below is the video of Greyson Michael Chance, the 6th grader who took the Internet and music lovers by storm, perform his brand new song, “Broken Hearts,” on Ellen DeGeneres.
