Soccer hooligans in Iran don't mess around when it comes to supporting their team. A grenade was thrown on the field during an Asian Champions League quarterfinal match.

The footage was captured in Iran, and the teams playing are Iranian Sepahan FC and al-Ahli SC from Saudi Arabia.

According to rt.com, the man picking up the grenade is midfielder Adel Kolahkaj, 40. It appears as if it was thrown on the field by a fan, and the player didn't realize what it was right away. He threw it to a side of the field a few later seconds. His quick thinking probably saved his arm.

The grenade went off, luckily wounding nobody. A smoke cloud followed the explosion, and the players and their fans were quickly evacuated from the scene.

The game ended in a draw.
