Some might think that clothes are just fabrics that people wrap themselves in to stay warm and cover their body, but, as it turns out, those saying that clothes are a reflection of one's personality and interests really are on to something.

Media reports say that greenheads and wildlife enthusiasts now have their very own fashion line, and that they have environmental group the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and fashion label Rapanui to thank for it.

Together with Rapanui, WWF-UK has recently launched a collection of T-shirts and hoodies that the group and the fashion label expect folks preoccupied with protecting the environment and safeguarding biodiversity will love and adore.

The T-shirts and hoodies are intended to raise awareness about the need to step up efforts to phase out fossil fuels and promote renewables, and support conservation projects meant to save one species or another from going extinct.

The T-shirts and hoodies, one of which is pictured above, all display wildlife-inspired designs, and some even sport green-oriented messages like “Think Before Extinct,” Click Green informs.

According to members of the World Wildlife Fund and the folks behind fashion label Rapanui, the green-oriented fashion line that the organization and the label have recently launched is not just green-oriented, but also environmentally friendly in itself.

Thus, the fabric used to make the clothes is 100% certified organic cotton and the dyes used to create the prints are water-based. What's more, word has it that the T-shirts and the hoodies came to life in a wind-powered factory.

This unique collection is exclusively licensed to WWF-UK, and people looking to get their hands on one or more such eco-friendly items of clothing need only visit rapanuiclothing.com. Part of the money obtained by selling these T-shirts and hoodies will become funds for conservation projects.

Commenting on this initiative, Howard Wright with environmental group the World Wildlife Fund, has said, “This range of clothing highlights WWF’s goals of a people living in harmony with nature.”

Furthermore, “We’re delighted to be working with our friends at Rapanui on this range of clothing, it will help to raise awareness as well as funds to support our valuable work- and keep us looking good while we do it!”

“We started Rapanui after learning about the reality of climate change – a business that created products that are better for the environment felt like the best way to make a real difference. As WWF fans from an early age, we’re delighted to work with WWF-UK and bring their ideas to life in fashion,” has added Rob and Mart Drake-Knigh, founders of Rapanui.
