This November 18, people who wish to get inked and lend a helping hand to those less fortunate can opt for a food-themed tattoo and hit said two birds with one stone.

Thus, November 18 will mark the so-called “Food Tattoos for Hunger” Day, meaning that numerous tattoo artists all around the world have agreed to decorate the skin of willing individuals with steaks, fruits, vegetables and what not, and donate the money they get to local food banks.

Their goal is to help alleviate hunger in various parts of the world.

Interestingly enough, this project started out as an attempt to help the people living on the US East Coast (i.e. those affected by hurricane Sandy), yet soon enough, several other tattoo artists and ordinary folks from different countries agreed to join in on the fun.

More information is made available to you on the official Food Tattoos for Hunger website.
