It may be sugar-free, but it still adds pounds to your figure

Most people take comfort in the idea that, although they happen to have a sweet tooth, they deal with the problem by drinking diet soda.

Thus, they simply assume that the “diet” label will help keep them out of harm's way as far as general health goes.

Still, researchers have shown that the artificial sweeteners (aspartame, in particular) these rather tasty refreshments contain more often than not toy with one's body is quite unexpected ways.

Apparently, several specialists believe (and can actually prove their beliefs) that a high intake of diet soda will sooner or later lead to kidney decline.

Interestingly enough, it seems that the artificial sweeteners are the ones impacting on the kidney, which is why sugar-sweetened sodas are a tad better, at least from this standpoint.

One other noteworthy piece of news is the fact that, when mixed with alcohol in various cocktails, diet sodas get you drunk significantly faster than regular refreshments do.

In other words, you will be facing a major hangover when you wake up the following day.

As well as this, there is the issue of tooth decay. To cut a long story short, drink plenty of soda and your dentist's bank account will be having the time of its life.

Last, but not least, bear in mind the fact that, because they play games with one's organism (they tell it sugar is on its way, when in fact it is not), diet sodas disrupt the metabolic balance and thus cause people to gain weight, rather than lose it.
