Those who enjoy a home-cooked meal are well aware of the fact that, after frying an onion or two, one's clothes are anything but pleasant to sniff.

More often than not, this leads to their being tossed in the washing machine for cleaning, even if they were worn only once, during the cooking experiments.

From an environmental standpoint, a washing machine made to work overtime is anything but green-oriented. Therefore, the idea that unpleasant odors can be “extracted” from one's clothes with the help of charcoal is noteworthy, to say the least.

Do the Green Thing informs us that one British designer named Lisa Marie Bengtsson took it to herself to develop the “Bye Bye Laundry” hangers, which basically use charcoal to rid one's clothes of any unwanted scents.

As this designer explains, charcoal act as an odor absorber, meaning that is sucks various particles out of its surrounding environment and traps them inside it.

For the time being, one can only assume that these hangers will soon become quite popular amongst British citizens and people from other parts of the world as well.
