Green House has been making NAND Flash-based storage solutions for quite a while, and it appears that its product portfolio just grew in size, now that the newest PicoDrive series of flash drives has made it out of its labs.

It appears that, even with all the fuss about the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 standard, companies are still not totally sold on the technology.

For those that would like a reminder, the USB 3.0 interface is the newest iteration of the Universal Serial Bus standard.

It gained recognition as soon as it was made official thanks to its maximum theoretical transfer speed of 5 Gbps, which is ten times higher than USB 2.0.

Green House decided not to jump start things in this instance, however, so it stuck to the much more affordable USB 2.0 port when it put together the latest PicoDrive iteration of flash drives.

Verily, the same company has been putting the High-Speed USB to extensive use even in other sorts of devices, some of which have little to do with storage, like when it created a 15.6-inch monitor.

Dubbed PicoDrive Dual Pro, it is, essentially, just one flash device in multiple capacity options, albeit all with the same, blue shell.

The dual-channel design is used, while their weight is only 9 grams and size is 61 (W) x 20 (D) x 5.9 (H) mm.

As for the actual performance, reading tasks are accomplished at up to 30 MB/s, while data is written at up to 24 MB/s.

Green House should already be shipping the drive in 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB versions, each priced at $40, $67, $122 and $242, respectively. The company also offers a one-year warranty with each of them.

Needless to say, the newcomer is fully compatible with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. The official product page can be found here.
