They can read data at up to 80 MB/s and write it at 78 MB/s

A new range of secure digital extended capacity memory cards has been introduced by Green House, and just at a glance, it's easy to tell that the company isn't here to play around.

SDXC are known for being more capacious and faster than normal SDHC cards, and Green house definitely went by that trend when it made the GH-SDXCUA Series.

Thus, the newcomers have capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, respectively, allowing them to easily play their parts as storage devices for camcorders and the like.

In theory, the SDXC specification enable memory cards of up to 2 TB, but there aren't any cards like that, not in circulation anyway.

256 GB is on par with solid-state drives as it is, although the transfer speeds aren't. Then again, that’s just because SSDs have multiple chips, and the top speed of 500+ MB/s is reached because of multiple chips writing/reading at once. But we digress.

The GH-SDXCUA Series covers a fairly broad performance range, with the low-capacity cards being slower than the others.

Still, even the 64 GB model is good at what it does, reading at up to 40 MB/s and writing data at 12 MB/s.

On that note, the 128 GB card reaches 60 MB/s and 40 MB/s read/write speeds, and the 256 GB one attains 78 MB/s and 50 MB/s. Thus, the newcomers are compatible with the high-speed SD bus interface "UHS-I" (ultra high speed I).

The Green House GH-SDXCUA Series SDXC memory cards of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB have prices of 18,800 yen / $188 / €140, 21,800 yen / $218 / €162, and 49,800 yen / $499 / €372.

All of them are made from MLC NAND Flash memory. MLC stands for multi-level cell, the more common type of NAND, albeit not as enduring as SLC (single-level cell).
