Some of the green gift ideas for this year's winter holiday are truly bizarre. One of the most uncommon strategies of this kind, aiming to open people's pockets and obtain a substantial financial help was launched by the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC).

The organization hopes to attract a large segment of public, eager to contribute and back its projects in their own interest, or in the names of their loves ones.

NRDC is aware of the fact that Christmas is the best time of the year to ask for generosity, and intends to convince people to make donations to support its court battles in an attempt to change the fate of honeybees, wild salmon polar bears and many more other vulnerable creatures all across the Globe.

The organization wants to make important corporations pay for their environmental crimes and is seeking to obtain much more than pocket change. $100 donations are encouraged to back one of their “hard-hitting cases in defense of America's environment.”

At the same time, the organization seems eager to settle for half of this amount for sponsoring their “legal team's hard work in defense of the environment.”

NRDC is supporting its cause with proper arguments that could easily turn into efficient tearjerkers during this time of the year.

“Being an environmental lawyer is a tough job. Most of our courtroom battles are real David vs Goliath match-ups, with one or two of our dedicated best up against batallions of corporate America's highest-paid attorneys.

“Our legal team works night and day to win landmark rulings that will protect polar bears, hold corporations accountable for their pollution and stop the oil giants from despoiling our natural heritage,” notes NRDC.

Moreover, the organization guarantees your money will be wisely spent and your gesture won't pass unnoticed. “When you give this gift we'll send a personalized card or e-card to your gift recipient,” states NRDC.

So forget about reindeer sweaters and candy bars this Christmas, since the green gifts announced by NRDC are definitely a much more original option.
