Green Day And System Of A Down Tops The Kerrang! Awards 2005 Nominations

Green Day and System of a Down topped this year Kerrang Awards nominations, receiving five each. The bands were voted for Best Single, Best Album, Best Video, Best Live Band and Best Band on the Planet awards.

Feeder, Stereophonics, Funeral for a Friend, Placebo and Cradle of Filth are nominated for best British band.

The rock awards will be held on 25 August at a London ceremony and hosted by actress turned rock star Juliette Lewis. Eight of the awards will be chosen by the public, and the rest by expert judges.

Last year's big winner was The Darkness, who won two Kerrang! awards in for Best Live Act and Best British band.
