
The Voice over Internet Protocol products of Chinese companies are projected to reach a number of no less than 29 million units by the end of this year. This represents a growth of 14 percent over
the total amount produced in 2005. In this context an approximated 22 million products are destined for export, according to metrics provided by Global Sources' China Sourcing Report.
According to analysts, telephony product exports will increase by 52% on a year-to-year basis driven by the expansion of wireless technology worldwide. Moreover, the market tendencies seem to indicate that there will be a growth in the market for applications that converge video and voice services. Following this trend, end-users will benefit from not only diversified offers on a growing market but also from flexible and dynamic products.
Worldwide subscriptions for residential VoIP are expected to hit 197.2 million users by 2010, up from 4.8 million in 2004.
