Photographer Dan Callister catches the event on film

Most people already know that, under certain circumstances, great whites will jump out of the water in order to catch seals. Such images are fascinating to say the least, and some would go to extreme lengths to catch them on film.

However, British photographer Dan Callister got twice as lucky: not only did he manage to get a picture of a great white jumping out of the water, but he also caught one other detail of the hunt.

Thus, whilst biting into the rubber seal used by said photographer as decoy, the shark also loses one of its teeth, which pretty much goes flying through the air.

As marine biologists explain, this incident only goes to show just how vicious these animals are when deciding to go for the kill.

Regardless of their proven ferocity, great whites are presently an endangered species, and considerable efforts must go in preserving their remaining population.
