Great Wall, a hardware maker less known outside of China, has just released a new ultra-compact Intel Atom powered computer which is built inside a keyboard case that isn't much larger than other such input devices.

The U310 is available in either white or black but the hardware specifications are common to both these models and rely on an Intel Atom D525 processor.

This was specifically built to be used inside nettops and other small form factor desktops system and it sports dual processing cores, with Hyper-Threading support (can run up to four threads simultaneously), clocked at 1.8GHz as well as an Intel GMA 3150 graphics controller.

In the standard configuration, the Intel processor is paired together with 2GB of DDR3 system memory as well as with a 2.5-inch hard drive with a capacity of 250GB, but the latter can also be upgraded by the user as it can be accessed form the back of the unit.

All throughout the edges of the keyboard, Great Wall has placed all sort of ports and connectors, including no less than five USB 2.0 ports, one VGA video output, one COM port, a 100MB Ethernet connector, as well as mic and line-out audio jacks.

These are driven by an Azalia codec and the U310 also comes fitted with a pair of built-in low-power speakers, while 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity is optional.

Thanks to the slim keyboard case used, the U310 measures only 460x168x30.1mm in size, while its weight is rated at 2.0Kg. According to the manufacturer, the power consumption of the system doesn't surpass 17.5W.

Great Wall has already launched the U310 Keyboard PC in Taiwan, but no information regarding pricing was provided. We also don't know whether this is available outside of Asia, as no such details have been announced. (via VR-Zone)
