has published an interesting video that shows the global activity of computers that are unknowing participants in a botnet.

The activity was recorded on Monday, June 11, 2012, between 9:00 and 9:01 EDT.

It’s well known that botnets have become a serious issue and many experts and security companies have issued warnings regarding their devastating effects.

However, it’s interesting to see a graphical representation of the rate in which malware such as Ramnit, Palevo, Cutwail, Sality, IRCBot and others perform their tasks.

If you don’t want to show up as a “spot” on the map, make sure that your computer runs an antivirus. Also, keep your plug-ins, add-ons, and other critical components such as Flash and Java permanently up-to-date.
