Everyone is aware by now of the incident in which journalist Mat Honan has taken center stage. A number of his accounts have been taken over – iCloud, Google, Amazon and Twitter – and everything culminated with the hackers hijacking the official Gizmodo Twitter feed.

After the incident took place, experts rushed to reinforce the need for two-factor authentication. Apple and Amazon have both plugged the security holes that allowed the attackers to gain unauthorized access to the accounts.

Now, F-Secure experts Sean Sullivan and Mikko Hypponen have made a great video in which they discuss the string of events.

They detail all the vulnerabilities leveraged by the hackers and they share some interesting insight regarding how account recovery should be handled in order to avoid unfortunate situations.
