Apple knows how to promote Free Apps, but it doesn't hurt to get the new or established ones and put them together on a short list for iOS users. The new curated list is called "Great FREE Apps" and it may stay here for a while

Browsing the AppStore becomes easier day by day. The left column with Top Paid, Top Free and Top Grossing Apps is the first thing you may want to check when you want to download the latest hits. There are also some cool collections on the first page of the AppStore so you have a plethora of apps to choose from

The newest curated list that showed up in AppStore is focused on the Free Apps and some of these are really good. The list is split between "New Apps" and "Favorites" and you can see 50 apps in the first category and 43 in the second one.

Let's start by checking out the newest apps that have caught the attention of the Apple staff. "The design Museum" is, as one might expect, a beautifully designed app. The simple and elegant interface offers a view inside the Design Museum in London. 59 remarkable objects are presented in this app through pictures, audio and video files.

Overcast, one of the best and certainly newest Podcast Players in the AppStore, made it on the list. The app was released by the former developer of Instapaper, Marco Arment and it features some innovative new features like Voice Boost and Smart Speed.

In the same collection you will see the new Airbnb app, the Comic-Con official Guide app, thew redesigned MLB or Yahoo News app, Fly - the fancy new video editing app or Soundcloud's newest music discovery app.

In the Favorites selection the AppStore staff has included some of the best ones out there. Classics like Shazam, Duolingo and Epicurious, CNN's app for iPhone, CBS Sports, Action Movie FX, Instagram, Wunderlist or Pinterest.

Of course you need to try them all, but TED is one of those apps that you need to have with you. It is not its design, because the app is pretty basic and looks like the default Videos app for iOS, but the content it brings.

TEDTalk is a conference for some of the most fascinating people on Earth: education radicals, tech geniuses, medical mavericks, business gurus and music legends. This app brings the entire library at your fingertips. The Talks are subtitled in over 90 languages. You can stream them over AirPlay to your TV and discover over 1,700 presentations that will make you a better man.
