New film adaptation of Charles Dickens’ masterpiece promises a real treat

Here’s something for the romantic in you: Charles Dickens’ masterpiece “Great Expectations” is getting the big screen treatment again. Above is a brand new trailer for this version.

Directed by Mike Newell, who already has several hits on his resume including “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” on a script by David Nicholls, “Great Expectations” boasts a superb and very talented cast as well.

Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane, Jeremy Irvine and Holliday Grainger will bring to life this story of love, revenge and money.

“Great Expectations” will be released in theaters in the UK on November 30, and will close the London Film Festival on October 21.

Early reviews already indicate a critical hit: it’s atmospheric, it’s eerie, well acted and superb.
