Grandstream, an American IP voice/video telephony and video surveillance manufacturer, has recently released a firmware update for several of its IP phones.

Version 1.0.5.23 corrects some errors for the GXP2100, GXP2110, GXP2120, GXP2124, GXP1450, GXP1400, GXP1405, GXP1100, GXP1105, GXP1160 and GXP1165 devices.

To begin with, Grandstream debuts its release notes with the bug fixes. Here, we find that the LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) has been fixed and is now fully functional.

Moreover, the phone will no longer be stuck after the firmware update is complete (although this has happened only in certain conditions).

The enhancements list includes 3CX CTI support (IP Phone System that completely replaces proprietary PBX systems and supports standard SIP soft/hard phones, VoIP services and traditional PSTN phone lines).

Other additions include the possibility of adding contacts with "#" and "*" in Phone Number field on Web GUI.

This is a beta version, so if you encounter any issues, report them to the manufacturer.
