Let's hope it's just a rumor

Is it that hard to develop a recent game nowadays? Do Polyphony Studios and Flagship Studios have something better to do than work on the development of Grand Turismo HD and Hellgate London? Apparently so...

According to GameSpot, these games won't be shipping until late 2007, as they conclude from GameStop's product listing. This is sad, sad news, both for racing sims fans and first-person shooter enthusiasts alike.

Things seem worse for Grand Turismo fans, as HD was set for a December 2006 release, so for the game to be delayed, a whole year is quite dreadful. Keep in mind that these are only rumors, but maybe there's no smoke without fire. I would be extremely disappointed if this turns out to be true, especially because of the vast range of cars to be included in the game.

We will get to experience, this winter or the next, jewels like Mazda 787B, the Toyota GT-One Race car, Audi R8, new Shelby cars, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, Chevrolet Corvette C6, Dodge Charger, Pagani Zonda Roadster and many more.

Grand Turismo will be a PS3 exclusive game, so first you have to get one of Sony's next-gen. Given the limited number of PS3s out there, maybe you will get one by the time HD comes out.
