Rockstar is getting ready to deploy on mobile platforms its classic Grand Theft Auto III title, but it hasn't ruled out the possibility of seeing its sequels, Vice City or San Andreas, also appear in the future for portable devices.

Grand Theft Auto III was a milestone iteration for Rockstar's extremely popular open world series and is now, 10 years after its original release, getting ready to delight a new generation of gamers.

Still, seeing as how its sequels, Vice City or San Andreas, were based on the same engine, although heavily optimized, Rockstar isn't ruling out the possibility of seeing them appear for mobile platforms, as the company told Digital Trends that it would be a "technical challenge" but that it's still "very possible."

In the meantime, however, Rockstar is expected to devote its resources on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V, the next installment in the series, which is set to receive its first actual trailer and details on November 2.
