The roll-out of heists for Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer component seems to have been very auspicious for Rockstar Games' action adventure video game, as it rocketed to the top of the UK retail sales charts.

The sales of the open world action game are up at an impressive 49 percent over last week, showing that the long-awaited Heists are every bit as exciting as the people clamoring for them were making them out to be.

Heists are complicated multiplayer missions that require a lot of planning and study, and are complex in execution, but also equally rewarding once pulled off successfully.

Last week's king of the charts, Techland's first-person zombie survival video game Dying Light, came in second place, showing a third strong week since becoming available at retail, in spite of it being digitally available since the end of January.

EA Sports' FIFA 15 takes spot number three, followed by Minecraft: Xbox Edition, showing a surge in interest, likely due to the release of a set of The Simpsons character skins.

Beyond the podium

Next up we have DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition, a new entry managing to snag the number five spot in spite of it being a high-definition remake of 2013's hit, and not a completely new game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Sledgehammer Games' military first-person shooter, fell down a couple of spots to six, followed by Mojang's Minecraft: PlayStation Edition.

Turtle Rock Studios' asymmetrical multiplayer shooter Evolve still seems to be showing signs of life, followed by Rebellion's Zombie Army Trilogy, positioned at number 9.

Rebellion's Sniper Elite 3: Ultimate Edition, a re-release but a new entry on the market, closes off the top 10 retail charts.

Destiny is still in the top 20, dropping a few spots to 18, and Bandai Namco Games' Dragon Ball Xenoverse dropped from last week's 5 to position 11, joining Lego Batmana 3: Beyond Gotham, now closing the top 20, in a six position drop.

The information comes from physical sales tracking firm GfK Chart-Track, covering week 11 of 2015. Battlefield Hardline is coming out tomorrow, so it's pretty obvious which game is going to come on top in next week's charts.
