Grand Theft Auto V will be launched today on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One home consoles, and all those who are thinking about picking up one of the new versions of the open world title should first take a look at two new videos which are designed to show off some of the new content they will be able to enjoy.

The footage shows an impressive railgun in action, available to all those who are planning to get the updated GTA V experience, and also demonstrates how the experience will benefit from the addition of the first-person perspective, which puts gamers at the heart of the gameplay and makes wielding a hatchet a much more exciting proposition.

Grand Theft Auto V is designed to create the best open world experience on the market, with gamers able to move freely around the city of Los Santos and its surrounding areas as they explore the stories of a cast of three protagonists, each with his own personality and his own challenges.

The versions of the game which are set to be offered on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 will include upgraded graphics, improved gameplay, denser traffic, a wider selection of content for all the radio stations, as well as some exclusive tracks.

At the same time, gamers can get access to the new Heists update for the Online mode, which is designed to allow those involved to take part in some complex missions that deliver exclusive new rewards.

GTA V will have big expansions

The video game from Rockstar will also get a version for the PC in late January of next year, designed to use the powerful hardware available in new and interesting ways, but there are no plans to introduce cross-platform play.

The studio has said that it wants to continue to deliver a solid stream of updates for the Online mode, with both content created in-house and more missions put together by the community.

At the same time, GTA V is one of those games that can be significantly expanded when it comes to simple player stories, with new characters and locations that gamers can explore.

So far, Rockstar has not offered any details regarding an expansion, but an official announcement might be made in early 2015, with a launch on all platforms taking place in the fall of next year. Rumors are pointing out that an expansion could be as big as a third of the available story.
