Good news, Apple fans, as Rockstar Games has just released the previously announced Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The bad news is that Android and Windows Phone users have been left out from the initial launch of the game, but according to Rockstar, the new title will arrive on these platforms next week.

The new Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas features remastered, high-res graphics, which was specifically created for mobile devices.

There will be lots of improvements that iOS users will notice at first glance, such as lightning enhancements, enriched color palette and improved character models.

Story-wise, Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas contains no less than 70 hours of gameplay.

Developers claim that this is one of the largest open world universes available on a mobile device, which includes three major cities for players to explore: Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas.

Here is an excerpt from the game's description: “Five years ago, Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas, a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

“Now, it’s the early 90’s. Carl’s got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.”

Keep in mind that this game is only supported on the following devices: iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPod Touch 5th gen, iPad 2, 3rd and 4th gen, iPad Air, iPad Mini and iPad Mini with Retina Display.

Developers also recommend players to reboot their devices after downloading and closing other applications when playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, in order to get the best performance.

You can now download Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for iOS for $6.99 / €5.99 via App Store. The game should be fully compatible with all iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch mentioned earlier and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
