Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the latest big title that has landed in the Windows Store, so in case you’re on Windows 8.1 already, you might want to have a look at this new game.

The game can be installed on both desktop PCs and tablets running Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1, which means that Surface owners can give it a try as well.

Rockstar Games guarantees that Windows 8.1 won’t see any major difference as compared to the standard version running on the desktop, with this exclusive version bringing a total of 70 hours of gameplay for adopters of Microsoft’s new operating system.

The developing team claims that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is featuring “remastered, high-resolution graphics built specifically for mobile including lighting enhancements, an enriched color palette and improved character models,” while also providing adjustable graphic settings to make sure that performance won’t be an issue.

“Rockstar Games brings its biggest release to mobile yet with a vast open-world covering the state of San Andreas and its three major cities – Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas – with enhanced visual fidelity and over 70 hours of gameplay,” the parent company stated in the official game description published in the Windows Store.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been optimized for Microsoft tablets, so you can plug in a USB Xbox 360 game controller and play it just like on a regular console.

The game comes with “dual analog stick controls for full camera and movement control,” but also with “three different control schemes and customizable controls with contextual options to display buttons only when you need them,” the app description also reads.

Unfortunately, Rockstar Games isn’t offering the game for free, but with a $6.99 (€5.40) price tag, so you’ll need to purchase a license to be able to download Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for Windows 8.1.
