Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer mode of Grand Theft Auto V, won't be sold separately, as players will need a copy of GTA 5 to get the online experience.

After a bit of teasing, Rockstar confirmed yesterday the very first details about GTA Online, the multiplayer experience that will take place in the open world of Grand Theft Auto 5.

While the mode is being promoted as a separate experience, which will even be launched at a later time than the game, it won't be sold separately, as Rockstar confirmed to Polygon that it won't do such a thing.

Those who want to experience GTA Online, according to the developer, can get it for free with every copy of GTA V and won't require a code or an online pass, meaning second-hand copies of a title will also be able to experience it.
