Leaked picture could've been better

Even though the 29th of April is now pretty close, people are still fighting for the 'First to own GTA IV' title. That is the reason why a picture with the GTA IV Xbox 360 disk has surfaced the Internet and everybody keeps wondering whether it is fake or real. If fake, it's a really well done job; if real, Rockstar wasn't able to create a good enough disk. Please take a look at the picture to the left (click to enlarge) and decide for yourselves.

Now, let's analyze that together, shall we? First, we have a personalized Xbox console (with a mustache or whatever that is) which could mean that the person who created the cover really wanted to see how far it would get. Pretty far, it seems. Now, the disk: it really looks great, we must admit that, and the first impression it leaves you with is that you're looking at the real thing. However, there are some things that just don't fit. We have, for example, the "Xbox Live" logo and I think all the new Xbox 360 games only have "Live" written now. Also, we have this girl on the disc, when it would've seemed more natural to have Niko, right? Not to mention the fact that one of the first pictures found by Google if you search for "GTA IV"is the same girl and almost same image. The shadows are the same, the location is the same, so it could be a further proof that it's nothing but a fake disk. Even more, half of the girl's face is cut off and I really doubt Rockstar would do something as bad as that. Still... one can never know.

Especially because there are some things that seem real enough for us to believe. First of all, pardon my language, the girl's boobs are way bigger in the Google image results (still, I doubt it's something a Photoshop expert couldn't deal with). Also, the girl's necklace is missing (which could again be easily erased with a Photoshop). Everything else is well done and looks like a real disk cover.

Of course, we'll see whether it is real or not in three weeks (or maybe earlier). Until then, Softpedia's verdict regarding this GTA IV disk: fake! Myth busted.
