Grand Theft Auto IV was one of this year's most expected titles, promising players a next-gen iteration of one of the most popular sandbox franchises out there. It was launched in April for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and has since sold over 5 million copies. But let's not forget that the PC version is set to hit the store shelves at the beginning of December, in time for the holiday season.

One of the most interesting long-term features of GTA IV is the additional DLC (Downloadable Content) – that Rockstar, the developer of the game, said that it would offer – in the form of episodes that would take the whole GTA experience further, to new heights. This DLC would only be available for the Xbox 360, and it prompted huge sales of the title for this particular console.

After the launch of the game, players were left waiting for additional details for the expansions, but nothing appeared. There were only a few statements from Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar, or from Strauss Zelnick, chairman of Take Two, the publisher of the game, that said the DLC was coming, but it didn't have a clear release date. Also, nothing was know about the actual content, as players only speculated that it would take the story of the game and further develop it.

But now it seems that the official details have come up, as USA Today reports that the future DLC expansion will be entitled Lost and Damned, and it will be launched on February 17 on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It won't follow Niko Belic, the main character of the game, but instead focus on Johnny Klebitz, a member of Liberty City biker gang The Lost.

"Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background, says Dan Houser. I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City. We feel like we've only scratched the surface in terms of the depth and detail [of the virtual city]."

Some very interesting details, which are sure to make players very anxious until the official launch. As of yet, no details on the pricing of this DLC, but industry analysts are saying that it might go for around 15 to 20 dollars. One thing's for sure though, a lot of people will buy it because they are definitely eager to explore Liberty City again.
