After confirming that Grand Theft Auto 5 reached $800 Million (€591 Million) in sales worldwide during its first 24 hours of availability, developer Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive have revealed that the game has reached the milestone of $1 billion (€739 million) in three days.

Grand Theft Auto 5 was one of the most anticipated games of the year, with tens of millions of fans eagerly awaiting its release earlier this week, on September 17, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

This anticipation was confirmed when the game reached impressive sales figures in its first day and now, after examining the three-day results, Rockstar and Take-Two have revealed via an official statement, that GTA V has blown past the $1 billion mark, further cementing its popularity and importance.

Grand Theft Auto 5's sales figures are set to keep on growing, especially since a PC edition is all-but-confirmed.
