Grand Theft Auto 5's upcoming remastering for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms has just received some more details from an attendant of the recent GameStop expo, who managed to get in on a hands-off demo organized by Rockstar with the game running on PS4.

GTA 5 appeared last year for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms, delighting tens of millions of gamers from around the world with the sprawling open world, the pretty high quality, and the stellar GTA Online multiplayer mode.

This summer, developer Rockstar revealed that it was going to deploy GTA 5 onto the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms later in the fall, and even posted a pretty stellar-looking gameplay video that ran on the PS4 platform.

Rockstar brought GTA 5 on PS4 to the GameStop Expo

At the GameStop Expo, Rockstar organized a hands-off demonstration of the game, once again on the PS4, behind closed doors, only for actual employees of the large video game retailer.

The demo has now received some actual details, via NeoGAF, revealing quite a lot of new info about GTA 5's gameplay and the massive improvements made by Rockstar in terms of visual quality and other such things.

The studio is pushing the PS4 and Xbox One

First up, Rockstar says that it wants to push the PS4 and Xbox One consoles just like it did with the PS3 and Xbox 360, especially in terms of the environment's quality.

Multiple zones from the game's big world were shown, from the city to the countryside, as well as the underwater zones where the coral reefs got plenty of love.

The draw distance is described to be "insane," as it uses a new real-time renderer, instead of the fixed one seen in the PS3 version, for example. The lights and traffic flow can be seen from big distances and the whole water system has been reworked, with liquids even pooling in the street after a rain, for example.

1080p resolution but unconfirmed framerate

The game's actual performance was at a 1080p resolution, however the framerate hasn’t been confirmed. The attendant believes that it might have been 30fps, but he is not certain. However, the anti-aliasing technique was quite good, as there weren't any jagged shadows or visual elements.

The wildlife in the game has also been drastically improved, with better fur, while there are far more pedestrians and cars on the roads.

The game looked quite finished, so it seems that reports about a possible delay aren't true. However, Rockstar has declined to say when GTA 5 is actually coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
