The recently released Grand Theft Auto 5 official gameplay video was recorded on the PlayStation 3, as developer Rockstar has confirmed that the title was running on Sony's console.

GTA V is set to debut in September for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and Rockstar has mentioned time and time again that it's not ready to talk about potential versions of the game for the PC or for next-gen devices like PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Now, in order to clarify any rumors, the studio has confirmed on its Newswire that the GTA V gameplay video was recorded in the PS3 edition of the open world experience.

Rockstar has mentioned in the video that all the footage was recorded in-game but has failed to say what platform, leading some to believe that it's from a rumored PC edition of the title.
