14 DAY TRIAL // After hearing a rather intriguing report yesterday about a possible movie based on Gran Turismo, the popular racing franchise from Sony and Polyphony Digital, a representative of Sony's UK division has confirmed that the film is in development.
Quite a few game-based movies are currently being made in Hollywood, some with more chances to hit the silver screen than others.
Earlier this week, a report surfaced that claimed a movie based on the Gran Turismo racing series would appear in the near future, coming from Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti, the producers previously responsible for The Social Network or Fifty Shades of Grey.
While Sony has made no statement after the rumor hit, a UK representative, talking to Joystiq, has confirmed that the Gran Turismo movie is "being made."
Unfortunately, no details can be shared at this time, so it's unclear what the movie will feature, besides racing, and what actors might appear in it.
