TheWrap quotes anonymous sources from Hollywood as saying that the new movie is being handled by Sony Pictures, with Elizabeth Cantillon, DeVon Franklin and Hannah Minghella serving as executive producers.
No information about the story of the Gran Turismo movie or about casting choices has so far been leaked.
The movie will aim to capitalize on the success of the Fast and the Furious franchise and will compete with an upcoming movie based on Need for Speed.
Gran Turismo 6 is set to launch exclusively on the PlayStation 3 home console during the fourth quarter of the year.
