The Vita also posts a significant increase in sales

Gran Turismo 6, the racing experience from developer Polyphony Digital and publisher Sony, has managed to take the number one position in the Japanese video game chart and to also boost sales of the PlayStation 3 home console from 13,311 to a more impressive 24,085.

The best-selling device continues to be the 3DS handheld from Nintendo, which has sold 125,269 units for the week that ended on December 8, according to data from Media Create quoted by NeoGAF.

The Wii U has also seen an impressive increase in its own numbers and has reached 48,762 coming from 28,518 during the previous seven-day period.

The Vita handheld from Sony has also posted better sales.

The rest of the video game chart includes Dragon Quest X: Nemureru Yuusha to Michibiki no Meiyuu Online, Pokemon X / Y, Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind, Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy: Big Bang / Supernova, Dragon Quest X: Nemureru Yuusha to Michibiki no Meiyuu Online, Super Mario 3D World, Bravely Default: For the Sequel, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal Clash! Duel Carnival! and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
